BIOGRAPHY
José Carlos Monteiro Dias was born on June 6, 1999, in Vizela, Portugal. His connection with music comes from a family tradition, and in 2015, he began taking guitar lessons with a locally renowned teacher specializing in rock, pop, and jazz.
In the same year, he enrolled at the Music School of São Martinho do Campo, where he had the opportunity to learn various musical elements, such as music theory, classical guitar, piano, singing, among others.
Between 2018 and 2021, José completed his Bachelor's degree in Music (Performance/Classical Guitar) at the University of Minho, and in 2021, he started his Master's degree in Music Education (Instrument) at the same institution. During the academic year 2021-2022, he worked as a classical guitar teacher at the Academia de Música de Basto.
In the years 2022 and 2023, José undertook an internship at the Conservatório do Vale do Sousa, and during this period, he also took on the role of a teacher, giving classes in Classical, Acoustic, and Electric Guitar at the Banda Marcial de Arnoso. He has been a guitar and ensemble music teacher at the Academia de Música de Vizela since 2023.
Throughout his musical career, José Dias has been performing in various concerts, creating musical arrangements, and composing both songs and instrumental music in a variety of styles.
